Type C FIBCs are also known as conductive FIBCs or groundable FIBCs. Type C FIBCs are made of non-conductive polypropylene fabric with conductive filaments interwoven in the woven fabric, usually in the shape of a mesh. These wires must be connected to conduct electricity and be grounded during the filling operation. The connection to the ground is essential for the safe use of Type C FIBCs during filling and discharging operations.
C-type FIBCs are safe to use: transport flammable powders. When flammable vapors, gases or combustible dusts are present.
Do not use Type C bulk bags: when the ground connection is absent or damaged. When there is resistance from any part of the FIBC to the ground.
