Type B FIBCs are similar to Type A FIBCs in that they are also made of plain woven polypropylene fabric or other non-conductive materials. Type B bags do not have any function to discharge static electricity.
The difference between Type A and Type B FIBCs is that Type B FIBCs are made of materials with low breakdown voltage to prevent accidents from high energy, dangerous propagating brush discharges. While Type B FIBCs provide protection against propagating brush discharges, they are generally not considered ESD FIBCs because they do not dissipate electrostatic charges.
B-type FIBCs are safe to use: transport dry, flammable powders. There are no flammable solvents or gases around the bulk bag. For use in dusty environments with ignition energy less than 3mJ.
Do not use Type B FIBC: when flammable solvents or gases are present around the FIBC.
